After hosting a premiere-run screening of The Homestretch in September, CCH launched “Hopestretch for homeless youth.” This exciting, two-month campaign concluded November 10. With the support of 48 volunteer fundraisers, the campaign raised $34,661 from more than 450 individual donors, with final donations still coming in.
Donations will support our work to end youth homelessness, including our Youth Futures mobile legal aid clinic. Supporters were able to get more involved by raising awareness and funds for this very important work.

CCH is proud to host a premiere run screening of The Homestretch on Monday, Sept. 15 at the Gene Siskel Film Center, 164 N. State St.
Donors and supporters have been invited to view the 89-minute film at 6 p.m., followed by a brief panel discussion featuring Director/Producers Anne de Mare and Kirsten Kelly, CCH youth leader Tia Carter, Homeless Liaison Patricia Scott (Prosser Career Academy), and one of the youths featured in the film.
The film follows three homeless Chicago teenagers as they struggle to maintain consistent housing, stay in school, and plan for the future. Through these stories, the filmmakers challenge the commonly held stereotypes of homelessness. Continue reading CCH hosts screening of documentary about homeless teens
Chicago Coalition for the Homeless was proud to be the official charity partner with Riot Fest Chicago. The three-day music festival and carnival in Humboldt Park held its 10th Chicago extravaganza Sept. 12-14. Riot Fest boasted an impressive lineup of over 125 bands, including The Cure, Jane’s Addiction and The National, with a full carnival of rides, a haunted house, and 9-hole mini golf course.

Thanks to our new friends at Emporium Arcade & Bar, the CCH-hosted tent featured 20 classic arcade games. Our tent was located on the north end of Humboldt Park, near the Riot Stage. Like last year, CCH raffled off cool prizes contributed by many of the festival’s acts. Autographed guitars, albums, t-shirts and posters all went home with the lucky fans that purchased a chance to win – helping our non-profit earn $24,000 this year.
