Intersectionality

We recognize how homelessness connects with other systemic issues that impact people based on color, immigration status, gender, sexuality and other societal identifiers. These multiple identities intersect and create a unique experience for each person. In working to end homelessness, it is important that people with these varying lived experiences are at all times acknowledged and actively leading in our work. Through this lens, we are able to address public policies against racism, sexism, heterosexism, and other systemic issues in our fight to end homelessness.
