CCH would like to thank our new friends at Elephant & Castle! The English style pub at 111 W. Adams organized a terrific fundraiser last night, with help from Goose Island Brewing Company.

Forty-six guests attended an evening of great food, drink and music. Local singer/songwriter Liz Chidester played music during the cocktail hour, then it was a three-course dinner with beer pairings.

Rick Wildt from Goose Island introduced the pairings and fielded questions about the basic principles on how to best pair beer with a meal. Rick was easygoing, entertaining and he made it very clear that Goose Island is always happy to help make a charity event fun and successful. The food was excellent and the service was top notch.

After the meal, everyone cheered as winning tickets for the numerous raffle prizes were drawn. Loop area businesses donated so many gift certificates that it seemed like everyone walked out a winner!

The event brought in $1,209 to support the work of CCH. None of this would have been possible without the hard work of Elephant & Castle’s Amanda Hendrix. Amanda chose CCH as the beneficiary of the pub’s first fundraising dinner. She handled the PR and gathered all the raffle prizes – we are very grateful to Amanda and everyone at Elephant & Castle and Goose Island Brewing Company for treating us so well.
