Yesterday there was a measure of accountability for one person in the form of three guilty verdicts. We send our love and support to George Floyd’s family and loved ones in this moment.
These verdicts are not justice for George Floyd, Adam Toledo, Daunte Wright, Breonna Taylor, Ma’Khia Bryant, or the many other people police have killed. Chicago Coalition for the Homeless is committed to fighting for justice and human rights. While we appreciate that the jury came to the correct decision, we must redouble our efforts to bring more justice to the world and dismantle the systemic racism that created the need for a trial in the first place.
