Extreme weather on Monday, August 10 caused major power outages across Northern Illinois, impacting hundreds of thousands of customers. Any SNAP recipient who experienced a power outage of at least four hours due to the storm can request to replace food that was spoiled or lost.
Requests must be submitted within 10 calendar days of the power outage.
To make a request, SNAP recipients must complete, sign, and submit a Request for Replacement of Destroyed Food form (linked below) by August 20, 2020.
For help with the application process, please contact Youth Health Attorney Mary Frances Charlton at email@example.com or 312.459.6607.
