Job Description

We are seeking an individual to serve as our full-time Digital Communications Manager for the new Communications Department at Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (CCH). You will have an essential role in the administration, content creation, drive of traffic and reach for CCH’s websites and app platforms. Specifically, you will spend 50% of the workweek focused on the management of CCH’s Streetlight Chicago Program (websites and app) and the other 50% on management of CCH’s, and websites. This candidate will hold strong digital advocacy skills, creates content recognizing the differences in storytelling across platforms, and knows that relationship building and analytics guide growth and strategy. Additionally, you will work to advance racial equity in your field and our society.

About CCH

Chicago Coalition for the Homeless is a 41-year-old systemic advocacy organization. CCH develops campaigns and initiatives to address the causes of homelessness – lack of affordable housing, lack of access to health care and services and lack of jobs paying a living wage. We place much emphasis on organizing and developing leaders who have experienced homelessness to become spokespersons and leaders of our various initiatives. Job Responsibilities 

Digital Technology: Administer the regular review, improvement and user-ability of websites and App, including phased updates and redesigns of the Streetlight App in conjunction with a 2022 redesign and maintenance of Leverages the digital ecosystem for reach and growth for CCH’s mission. 

Content: Own and regularly update three CCH websites and Streetlight App. Add new and update resources and content for users. Ensure the app and website’s content is fresh, accurate, up to date and in-line with current SEO/SEM and optimization practices. Develop and execute digital 2 

communications campaigns as needed. Create and manage the content calendar for planning, implementation, and review. 

Collaboration: Maintain regular contact, conduct interviews, and focus groups with CCH staff, youth providers and other stakeholders featured on CCH’s website and app platforms to incorporate the voices and feedback of targeted groups such as: young people by working with the StreetLight Youth Council, CCH Grassroots Leaders and Speakers Cohort. 

Audience Growth: Develop and implement trainings and presentations to market and promote StreetLight and Bring Chicago Home to providers, new audiences of young people and other identified groups. Identifies areas and strategic tactics for reach to grow awareness of platforms, connect with new audiences and deliver results on call-to-action initiatives. 

Analytics: Find critical conversion and drop off points and optimize user funnels. Monitor and interpret analytic data and optimize the functionality of our digital infrastructure and ecosystem. Create a process for assessment of all platforms mentioned and develop a plan for growth. 


  • Full understanding of digital technology (website and app management and use). 
  • Mid-level experience in digital technology 
  • Experience working with a diverse range of people including young people ages 14 to 24-years-old 
  • Bilingual capacities preferred 
  • Proficient in WordPress, MS Office, Google Suite and other management systems 
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work with diverse populations 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; in collaboration with all CCH departments—CCH believes strongly in interdepartmental collaboration and expects all staff to work in close partnership with the other departments at the organization. 
  • Work to advance racial equity and dismantle systems based on white supremacy within area of expertise 
  • Demonstrated ability to stay on task and meet deadlines and goals 

This position reports to the Director of Communications but works closely with Associate Director of Marketing & Communications and Streetlight partners. 


$53,000 – $59,000 based on experience, highly competitive benefits package, including health insurance (90% of premium paid by organization), four weeks of paid vacation, sabbatical program and student loan repayment assistance program and more.
