Almost $62,000 raised, thanks to your support this Giving Tuesday

Thanks to your generous support on Giving Tuesday, Chicago Coalition for the Homeless has raised almost $62,000.  And our loyal donors that supplied $100,000 in matching funds have extended the time period to draw them down because they know life can get busy. So there is still time to help CCH reach this ambitious goal!

I know we can get there; we just need to donate, share, and share again. Donate here, and don’t forget to share to get the word out.

Kudos to the 424 donors who generously gave $61,616 on Giving Tuesday. CCH saw many donations coming in made in memory of Keith Freeman, CCH’s Senior Community Organizer who passed away on November 10.  Other distinct efforts on Giving Tuesday this year included CCH’s newly emerging 2022 Marathon Team and our roster of performers for our second annual Variety Show happening via Zoom on Thursday, December 16.

Giving Tuesday supporters were inspired by generous challenge grants from Marta Delgado & Sam Nandi, Robert Pasin & Muriel Quinn, and former CCH Board member, Dem Hopkins. Together, they offered to match all Giving Tuesday donations to CCH, dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000.

We are especially grateful to those who helped promote this day of giving. Fifteen people created personal fundraising pages. Serving as “Giving Tuesday Ambassadors,” they asked friends and family to make Giving Tuesday gifts. Countless others helped by sharing and engaging with our Giving Tuesday-themed posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

Many thanks to our Giving Tuesday Ambassadors: Jessica Staiger, Meena Byers, Holly O’Hern, David Swendsen, Melissa Chrusfield and Traci Beck (with help from her wife Kelly Suzanne Saulsberry) from our Board of Directors; Sophie Babcock, Sara Szwankowski and Rui Chen from our Associate Board; and staff members Patricia Nix-Hodes, Sherry Matthews, Bisma Shoukat, Thomas Edwards and Vanessa Alvarez. Several others supported us by creating Facebook fundraisers on Giving Tuesday.

To preserve our independent voice, CCH does not accept government funding. CCH could not operate without the generosity of individuals and foundations in our community that share our commitment to ending homelessness. All donations are tax-deductible.
