Zumiez donates 408 coats & blankets for Chicago shelter residents

This is the ninth year in a row that the Zumiez Foundation has shipped hundreds of outerwear items, including socks, gloves and hats, for people coping with homelessness in Chicago.

“The people we work with are grateful to Zumiez for its long-term generosity,” said Jim Field, CCH’s associate director and director of organizing.

Distribution of the outerwear began last week and will continue through January.

The Zumiez Foundation reports donating more than 180,000 items in 2012 to more than 180 organizations in 21 states.
