Supporter Spotlight

What do a photographer, a bartender, a casting agent, and a lawyer have in common?  They've joined forces, along with many others, to help the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless.  The new CCH Associate Board consists of a growing team of motivated young professionals who share a passion for fighting homelessness.

And they are looking for others to join their ranks.

The Associate Board was created to promote the mission of CCH, and its members show their support by volunteering and fundraising for CCH.

“I feel that the work of CCH is very important,” says member Michael Ostrander, an IT professional, “and the Associate Board is a great outlet for me to contribute my time and talents to this worthy cause.” This year board members have participated in Chicago’s Shamrock Shuffle 5K and hosted a happy hour cocktail party.

Next up? A Halloween party, and all are welcome!  Join the fun at The Ashland, 2824 N. Ashland Avenue, Chicago, on Friday, Oct. 30. The party runs 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. There will be prizes for best costumes and a raffle, with people jamming on the popular new videogame, Beatles Rock Band. Suggested donation at the door is $10 per person.

“There is a lot of energy and excitement from the group about this party, and that is a recipe for success,” says Associates President Becca Knights, a casting agent.

The Associate Board is determined to grow in size and influence – as Becca puts it, “We plan on being a force to be reckoned with.”
