Home Ground History
Spearheaded by our late executive director, John "Juancho" Donahue, the coffee project was launched in 2001. Backed by volunteers, the project offers marketable job experience and a fair, part-time wage to homeless and formerly homeless adults active with CCH. Learn more about our start-up in 2001.
In mid-2004, CCH began working with a new supplier, Just Coffee of Madison, Wisconsin. We sell only shade-grown organic Fair Trade coffee that is air-roasted in micro-batches of 10 lbs or less. All coffee is purchased for a fair price from democratically-organized cooperatives. Home Ground partnered with Just Coffee because it is a 100-percent Fair Trade company, committed to a better way of trade. And it offers a great tasting project!
That's why we say: Buy from Home Ground -- it's justly delicious!
