Associate Board and staff run the Ravenswood 5K for CCH

On the morning of Sunday, April 27, members of the CCH staff, Associate Board and concerned supporters once again took to the streets. Only this time, instead of carrying protest signs and chanting, they were be lacing up their running shoes for a 5K run.

For the fifth year, a group affiliated with CCH will be participating in the annual Ravenswood Run to raise money and awareness. They asked their friends, family and co-workers to join them in their staunch support of CCH with a tax-deductible contribution.

After the race was over, 246 donations had been given in support of 15 runners, with $11,051 donated. Late donations to the runners’ pages can still be accepted HERE

The 8 a.m. race began at the corner of Wilson and Hermitage.

In April 2013, a group of 14 runners raised over $11,000 to support the work of CCH. Many involved in that effort have returned and have set sights on besting their personal fundraising and running time records.

Also over the weekend, two CCH staffers ran a half-marathon in downstate Champaign, raising money for Abolition International, an anti-trafficking organization. Donors gave more than $400 in support of the run by Policy Specialist Jennifer Cushman and Graham Bowman, an Equal Justice Works attorney working with Youth Futures.
